Nishi Seichasho in Izumo, Shimane, has been making Japanese black tea since 1985. Their blend of "Benifuki" — a Darjeeling-crossed cultivar — brings firm tannins and an elegant aroma, paired here with a heart-shaped dried lemon.
Izumo is home to Izumo Taisha, the great shrine famous for its deity of en-musubi — the tying of good bonds. Float a little heart on the tea along with your good wishes; as a gift, it carries real meaning.
The heart lemons come from Setoda, Hiroshima — grown one by one in molds, to the peel-safe "Eco Lemon" standard.
