MITSUURA BREWERY TEA HOUSE (the 'Site') takes your privacy seriously and handles your information under the following policy.
When you place an order we collect your name, Latin-letter name, email address, phone number, postal code and delivery address, together with the contents of your order (items, quantities and amounts). This information is required to ship your parcel and to make the customs declaration, so we cannot accept an order without it. If you register for opening updates, we collect only your email address.
We use your personal data only to: (1) pack and ship your order; (2) make the export and import customs declarations; (3) contact you about the transaction, including order confirmation, dispatch and refunds; (4) answer your enquiries; (5) prevent fraudulent orders; (6) keep the accounting and tax records that Japanese law requires us to retain; and (7) measure advertising performance in aggregate. If we ever want to use it for another purpose, we will ask for your consent first.
Card details are processed directly by Stripe, Inc. Our servers never see or store your card number.
We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it only to the service providers we need to fulfil your order. Delivery: Japan Post and the postal operator in your country (SingPost). Payments: Stripe, Inc. Website hosting: Vercel Inc. Database: Supabase Inc. Email delivery: Resend, Inc. Advertising measurement: Meta Platforms, Inc. (hashed values only). We may also disclose data where required by law.
The service providers above operate servers in Japan and the United States. Placing an order therefore transfers your personal data outside Singapore, where it is stored and processed. We require each provider by contract to protect it to a standard comparable to this policy and to the Personal Data Protection Act.
Order records are retained for seven years from the completion of the transaction, because Japanese tax and company law requires it. Enquiry records are kept for three years. After those periods we delete the data or anonymise it. Opening-update registrations are deleted as soon as you ask to be removed.
We use strictly necessary cookies to hold your cart, keep you signed through checkout and remember your display language; these cannot be switched off. We also use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure advertising performance, which sends your hashed email address, hashed phone number and order value to Meta Platforms, Inc. You can opt out through your browser settings or your Meta ad preferences.
You may ask us for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected or deleted. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Write to the contact below and we will respond within 30 days. Note that withdrawing consent before dispatch means we cannot fulfil the order, so we will refund and cancel it. Records we are legally required to retain cannot be deleted before their retention period ends.
All traffic is encrypted with TLS. The admin console is behind authentication and reachable only by staff who need it. As set out above, card details never pass through our servers.
